Credit: Nina OttolinoAndrew W.K.: musician, party-enthusiast, and savior of enthusiastic drivers. After a English fan named Luke tweeted that he was ticketed for speeding while listening to the rocker’s new single “Music Is Worth Living For,” W.K. offered to pay the fine.

“I would like to pay this speeding ticket for you,” W.K. replied. “I was responsible for the sonic party power that caused you to speed.”

Later, Luke tweeted that he asked W.K. to donate the money to a “far more worthy cause than myself.” In return, the musician offered him free tickets to his show in Portsmouth, England.

Even the Thames Valley Police, which issued Luke the ticket, chimed in on the exchange.

They tweeted, “You may ‘Want fun’ and to ‘Party hard’ but we want you to be safe. Drive safely dudes and party on (responsibly).”

“Music Is Worth Living For” is the lead single from Andrew W.K.’s forthcoming album You’re Not Alone, which will be released March 2.
