ABC/Randy HolmesAfter listening to Mastodon‘s new album Emperor of Sand — an 11-track journey following a man condemned to wander through a desert — you may find yourself in need of a drink. If that’s the case, then look no further than Sultan’s Curse, a new signature beer from the Atlanta metallers.
Created in collaboration with Mikkeller Brewing San Diego, Sultan’s Curse — named after a track on Emperor of Sand — is an imperial stout brewed with Middle Eastern spices, coffee, dates and toasted pistachios, among other ingredients.
“We are beer lovers and enthusiasts so it makes us really happy to have our name on such a delicious brew and what goes together better than heavy metal and beer?” says drummer Brann Dailor.
Sultan’s Curse launched Thursday prior to Mastodon’s show in San Diego. If you’re an of-age California resident, you can order the beer online via Shop.MikkellersD.com.
