ABC/Randy HolmesKings of Leon is playing Las Vegas Friday night, nearly a week after the mass shooting at the Route 91 Harvest Festival that left 58 dead –not including the alleged shooter — and nearly 500 injured; and the band will be turning it’s gig into an opportunity to help shooting victims.
The band announced on Thursday that all net proceeds from the October 6 show at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino will be donated to the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee’s Music City Cares Fund to support Las Vegas charities aiding shooting victims.
“Following the horrific events of this past weekend in Las Vegas, which have touched so many here and beyond, including members of our own Hard Rock Las Vegas family, we are honored to help the victims, their families and first responders for their heroic efforts,” said Jody Lake, chief operating officer for the Hard Rock, said in a statement.
Kings of Leon will be finishing up their tour in support of their recent album, WALLS, this month.
