Island RecordsThe Killers sit at the top of the Billboard 200 for the first time in their career, thanks to their new album, Wonderful Wonderful. The fifth studio effort from Brandon Flowers and company debuts at number one on the chart with a total of 118,000 equivalent album units, 111,000 of which were traditional album sales.
Prior to Wonderful Wonderful, The Killers peaked at number two on the Billboard 200 with their 2006 sophomore effort, Sam’s Town. The band’s other three albums — 2004’s Hot Fuss, 2008’s Day & Age and 2012’s Battle Born — all debuted in the chart’s top 10.
In the U.K., Wonderful Wonderful also debuted at number one, which gave The Killers five straight number-one albums across the pond.
The Killers have a few festival appearances lined up for the fall, including Austin City Limits and Voodoo, before they embark on a U.K. tour in November. They’ll kick off a headlining North American tour in January.
