Weezer pays tribute to “Beverly Hills” video guest star Hugh Hefner

ABC/Randy HolmesWeezer has shared a tribute to the late Hugh Hefner, who died Wednesday at age 91. The famed Playboy founder made a cameo in the video for the band’s 2005, single “Beverly Hills.”

In a Twitter post, Weezer writes, “Thanks for taking our phone call, Hef! R.I.P. to one of the more unlikely guest stars in a Weezer video ever.”

In the clip, Hefner calls up drummer Patrick Wilson and invites Weezer to play their new song at the Playboy Mansion, just as long as they don’t “bring too many dudes.” Partying and rocking then ensues.

Other musicians who’ve paid tribute to Hefner include Slash, Gene Simmons and Rob Zombie.
